I am happy as we (SF Support group) achieved our goal of raising $25,000 and + some for the 1st Walk for Psoriasis Awareness in San Francisco. I was happy to see people turn up and help with the set up and the running of the walk.
I was disappointed on two fronts. I was busy marking the walk for 1 hour and did not get a chance to set up the table for psoCool and as such people did not get a chance to see the clothing I had in the bag.
The second thing that was weird was that I had received a lot of encouragement from folks and some of them had shown interest in my 1 on 1 with them in the past. The same folks did not even come and look at the clothing line. I am not forcing anyone to buy but the encouragement words were quite like, "I would love to get my hands on these items, let us know when they are in".
I guess this is the reality of doing business. I did sell one Kurti and one pant and that will help pay for the photography cost and hopefully I will have a website to show off.
I believe I made a mistake by becoming a sponsor and helping with the organizing of the event. There was too much to do on the day of the event let alone days leading up to it. Next year I have to pick one.
For now, the plan is to proceed as planned and do some marketing.
Congrats to the SF Walk Committee, we kicked arse.

Mannequin or live model
I have been debating on what to do with the website. The clothing line needs to be presented well and as such I need to have the pants and tops displayed in their entirety.
Should I use Mannequin or should I use live models?
Cost certainly plays a part in this and I could certainly model for my own clothing line.
Mannequin is another option. I have to decide fast as I need to get the website going.
